Dwight Jaynes To Be Inducted Into Oregon Sports Hall of Fame

Veteran sports journalist and current morning co-host on KXTG/95-5 The Game, Dwight Jaynes will be inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame, it was announced today. The 31^st annual induction ceremony will be held on September 28, 2010 at the Multnomah Athletic Club to recognize outstanding Oregon athletes and special contributors to sports. Among those being inducted along with Jaynes are former Trail Blazer Terry Porter, Olympic luger Jack Elder, NFL referee Nate Jones and PGA professional Joy Selig Petersen.

 

A Portland native, Jaynes has a long and storied sports journalism career, having spent more than 30 years as a writer and columnist for the Oregon Journal, The Oregonian and the Portland Tribune. Awarded five times as the Oregon Sports Writer of the Year, Jaynes has co-authored two books, “The Long, Hot Winter” with Rick Adelman and “Against the World” with Kerry Eggers. Co-host on 95-5 The Game’s Morning Sports Page with Chad Doing and Antonio Harvey, he is affectionately known as “The Godfather” due to his depth of knowledge and longevity as a sports journalist.
